The Capital Dog Training Club of Austin conducts agility lessons in our front yard. Jack has had three lessons in the puppy class so far and seems to be fearless on the obstacles that other dogs have trouble with such as this teeter-totter. However, we are still working on jumping - sometimes he jumps and sometimes he just charges through! We are sticking to short jumps until he is much older. Also, the puppy classes only work with obstacles like this set low to the ground to minimize the risk of damage if they fall off.
Go to the club's web site for more information on classes and agility trials. Note that the background image for that site is our very own Daphne doing the tire obstacle!
Now in mid January, he has gotten about as big as his Auntie Red. He discovered that he can get up into chairs, so we will have to be careful with cups of coffee and other goodies. We are almost done with sharp puppy teeth, only the upper canines remain.
Compare this with the very first picture to see that he is finally growing into those feet!
